WHAT’S UNIQUE?
The Stuyvesant Town Greenmarket is one of the best market’s I’ve ever visited. The market is set in an idyllic park, in which fountains flow and playgrounds are littered with energetic children. In addition, kids play chess by the market or sell chocolate for charity next to the stands. The market has an old fashioned, back-to-roots feel to it. Specifically, the market is special in that it offers 10 different types of apples (a much wider variety than most markets). Migliorelli Farm proudly displays their pear cider as well, which is sold out if one does not arrive early. Lastly, a new farm, Ledge Rock Farm, has “meet the farmer” opportunities every Sunday, and they even offer juicy, irresistible burger slider samples, so that the customers line up to buy the delicious meat.

ACTUALLY LOCAL?
Some farmers are located as far as Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, but others are as close as Stuyvesant Falls, New York.
CONVENIENCE
The market is in an excellent location because residential, high-rise border the park. The market seems to attract both the old and the young, and the business is successful throughout the day. The only regret I have about this market is that it is only open from 9:30-4, once a week; with the variety it offers, I think it could do great business in opening for a longer period of time, and more frequently.
NAVIGATION
The market is easy and enjoyable to navigate.
EBT STAMPS Not Accepted.
FINAL COMMENTS
One should visit the Stuyvesant Town Greenmarket when looking for a classic market experience. The vendors are down to earth and the food is too delicious to turn down for freezer-burnt produce in the supermarket. If I lived near Stuyvesant, I would stock up every Sunday for sure!
