WHAT’S UNIQUE?
This market, although quite barren, had a lot to offer. With the exception of Union Square, I had never seen popcorn at any market before. Popcorn, convenient to make especially in the short corn season, is an American favorite while watching movies, or simply as a snack, so the freshest, most local popcorn should turn the heads of anyone who is health conscious at all. In addition, this market was one of the few I had seen to offer purple plums, which are said to be sweeter and more well-liked than the yellow variety. Lastly, Inwood Park, famous for its size and the lively people that inhabit it, is right across the street, providing for a nice area in which to relax and watch a ball game or prepare for yoga in the park. One man said "it's not as big as Union Square, but the people are friendlier;" I don't disagree.

Normal pricing.
Half Gallon of Milk: $7.00 ($8.00 - $1.00 for the returned bottle)\

ACTUALLY LOCAL?
The food at the Inwood market is very local, with farms ranging from Goshen, New York to King Ferry, New York.
CONVENIENCE
Location is smart. People pass in and out of Inwood park all the time, but grocery shopping seems to go on at a nearby supermarket much more than at the Greenmarket.
NAVIGATION
Very easy to navigate.
EBT STAMPS Accepted.
FINAL COMMENTS
Perhaps if the market were open multiple days in a week, the members of the community would notice it more and stop to consider it against the supermarket. Especially on a Saturday, when people like to sleep in and relax to make up for the hectic week, opening at 8:00 AM might be inefficient, and the stands close down before even 2:00. They say to come early, otherwise you'll miss everything, and this assertion is very true. If the market were open later in the day, I can almost guarantee it would get better business. On a different note, the popcorn, which I think is a unique and interesting aspect of the market, should be put front and center of the stand that sells it – who doesn’t want a jar of popcorn?!
